What are some tried-and-tested sets of server rules, terms of service, moderation protocols etc. that others have used for similar sized servers? We'd like to be good fediverse citizens and not reinvent wheels.
Please boost for reach.
“What I missed about Mastodon was its very different culture. Ad-driven social media platforms are willing to tolerate monumental volumes of abusive users. They’ve discovered the same thing the Mainstream Media did: negative emotions grip people’s attention harder than positive ones. Hate and fear drives engagement, and engagement drives ad impressions.” #Social https://escapingtech.com/tech/opinions/i-was-wrong-about-mastodon-moderation.html
I do not like that site of birds
I do not like its awful words
I do not like what it became
I do not like its cult of shame
I do not like intrusive ads
I do not like the vapid fads
I do not like the clout it’s given
I do not like its algorithm
But I shall miss that weird bird town
I do not like it burning down
Do you need to move to a new Mastodon server?
I have written a step-by-step guide on moving your account while keeping your followers and follows.
If you're like me, then you were really happy to learn about Mastodon's enthusiastic support for image descriptions, and you were really eager to join in.
I found this guide really informative: https://uxdesign.cc/how-to-write-an-image-description-2f30d3bf5546
Of course, I'd also love to hear any additional tips y'all might have!

Wrote up something explaining just why Elon's latest actions on Twitter were so problematic. It's not so much the final decisions (even as those are bad), but the process that shows his lack of concern about anything other than himself. That's no way to do content moderation.
